Wednesday, 12/29/10

Worked until 7:30, ran out for awhile, but got back on later in the morning.

Addie to Mom's today.

Boys went to movie with Michael and Preston. While on their way to Grapevine Tinseltown, Travis called to remind me that he had drive time today at 4:30 (movie is at 2:45). So...I had to leave work, drive to GV, pick him up, drive him to Keller, then drive to Hurst to get Addie from Mom's, then back to Margie's to pick up Pat as the movie was over by this time, then back home for about 20 minutes, then back to Keller to get Travis from drive time.

So much for not having to work tonight. Did not finish until 8:45 and about 50 lines short of daily goal. sigh.

Tuesday, 12/28/10

Worked this a.m. for about an hour and a half, then ran out and went back to bed (at 7 a.m. ) until about 9, got up, showered, and went back to work. Took the kids to Rosa's for lunch (in the misty rain) and then back to work again. Michael and Preston come over to spend the night. I went to grocery store around 5 when we ran out of work again. Got home and made spaghetti and garlic bread for everyone, then back to work until 10:30. Still did not get my goal line count. ugh...

Back to bed at 10:30.

Monday, Dec 27, 2010

Got up at 5:30. There were a couple of jobs, so I did them and went back to bed until 8. Got up and showered, but there still was no work. Played with Addie for awhile until we had work. Worked off and on all day until 10 p.m. ughhh...so tired of doing that.

Did not have time to go to grocery store. Did not have anything here for the kids to eat all day. Ty had to bring (chicken) home dinner.

Well, there is work still on the system at 10 p.m. so hopefully it will be there in the a.m. Then maybe I can finish working early enough in the day to go to the grocery store.

Sunday, 12/26/10

Ty and the boys went to use the Father's Day Groupon I got him for a VIP tour of Cowboy Stadium. I originally bought them for us to go as a family, but as the expiration date neared, I realized they better just go, so he was going to take his mom one day while I was working. That ended up not happening because they were booked that day, so he booked for today...he tried to call to see if he should get Frank and Kathy a ticket so they could go, but i was on the phone with his Mom while he was there so he never got through to either of us....so he got 2 extra tickets so everyone ended up going but me and his Dad. (well, and Pep). I stayed home with Addie. We worked on cleaning up her room. Did not finish, but made a dent. I am putting all dress-up type stuff in 1 basket, cars in another, mr. potato head in yet another, balls in one, etc. I'm getting rid of her 1-year old toys...making a "donate" pile of small things like stuff from happy meals and carnival prizes to give to the kindergarten teachers for their "prize buckets" they have for their kids at school. anyway, worked on that for awhile and made a dent, but a long way to go. Need to weed out the stuff animals, too. they take up the whole top of her shelf.

ok, so here is what I have decided on project 365, 2011 version. Not going to do the picture a day thing because (a) my photography needs work, (b) I don't TAKE a picture every day, (c) did not keep up with this years very well. So I am going to keep an album but it will just be a chronological record of the year, and not everyday. Because of that, I will wait and order it when she puts it on sale...which she did a couple of times this year. I thought about buying 1 of each (she has 2 versions available this year) and using one for 2009, chronological. undecided on that as yet, but definitely get 2011. thought about just buying the page protectors and album and cutting up Basic Gray (my favorite brand of scrapbook paper) to fit. Maybe a different line of paper each month? still deciding on that. Probably just order the kit and be done with it.

Which brings me to this blog. Not sure if I will continue. I probably will, but it will definitely not be a daily thing. Maybe once a week update? just not sure yet. I find myself telling Addie "just another minute" alot at night after working allllll day, then feeling guilty because I'm putting her off when I could be doing things with her. I just don't play with my kids enough....always thinking of what I need to be doing...need to make more time for them.

anyway...showered and "fought" with Addie over potty issues and did a little here and there in each room...nothing that made a dent in any room, but things that needed to be done. I feel like I should be off for another week, but guess it's back to work in the morning.

If there is any...work, that is!

Hope if you are reading this...you had a very Merry Christmas!

Chrismas Day, 2010. Already...wow, time sure flies. I can't believe there is only 1 more week of Project 365. and I can't believe how behind I am . oh, who am I kidding? It's not a shock at all.

So, this a.m. we got up and all got ready for church. We went to Patsy's church..also know as the church were Ty and I were married. It started at 10. We got there at 9:40. and the parking lot was almost empty. I was stunned. Christmas Morning Mass and the Catholic church parking lot was almost empty? 20 minutes before mass? I was stunned. But, we got to all sit together and park up close, so I guess there ARE Christmas miracles! :)

So, left there and went to Patsy's and had ham for lunch, then opened gifts. The kids got the Xbox Kinect. among other things...we all got nice gifts.

After visiting for awhile, went home and had our family Christmas at home. There was no time this a.m. Actually, we didn't do it right away because Addie fell asleep on the way home. Pat could not wait, so he opened 1 gift, a slot car track, and he and Ty worked on putting that together until Addie woke up.

more nice gifts. I gave Ty a Groupon-type thing to drive a Nascar at TMS. I got my Expression (Cricut). Kids got their wish lists...I think everyone is happy. for now anyway.

The boys got coin counting jars from Oma and Travis had over $75. in change from the last few years of throwing loose change in there. I have a jar bigger than this and then a couple of smaller ones, so I must be rich too! :)

Ended up making a pizza for dinner because I did not shop for a meal since I thought we would not be home all day.

it was a nice Christmas. can't believe this year is coming to an end already. So, have I officially said that every month now? :)

Friday, Dec 24, 2010

Christmas Eve. I was off work today. I made some candy and some sopapilla cheesecake to take to Mom's tonight. oh, and some caramel corn.

It was COLD today. just 2 days ago we were in 85 degree weather. now it's cold enough to snow, but there is no snow.

The kids and I went over to Mom's. Ty went with his family because his sister and her husband are in town for Xmas. They went to Piccolo. Wish we could have all gone, but can't be in 2 places at once. His family probably enjoyed all being together w/out all the extras around anyway! :)

We had i. Fratelli's pizza (has become tradition last few years) and opened gifts and then had dessert. Ty showed up while we were eating. We all got really nice gifts.

Came home and i think Ty was asleep before the kids were. So, "Santa" stayed up until 2 a.m. doing everything that Santa does. Enough said.

Monday, Dec 20, through Thursday, Dec 23, 2010

No work this morning. just checked in off and on all day. Pretty much went that way all week. I did not get my goal line count all week, just not enough work.

Wed night Tracy and kids were in town. The boys went with Josh K. to for awhile to the rec center to play some ball. Tracy and I visited for a short while...always a short visit with her, but good to keep in touch (friend from high school. Her son was born 3 weeks before Travis. He was at my baby shower for Travis when he was 2 weeks old).

Thursday, they came back over while Tracy and her mom did some shopping. We went to eat (free Whataburger). Went there and met Donna and Margie - and ran into Kipi Ward there. Always good seeing her! Dropped all the kids off at Rec Center to play basketball. Addie fell asleep on the way home and was still asleep when they called to come home. Donna came by to wrap some presents for me (Thanks, Donna!) since i was still working.

Doc called and said my Vit D levels are low and got me a Rx strength Vit D to take for a few months, then have to recheck it. This after telling me I'm borderline osteoporotic and that this might be why. Guess i need to get out in the sun more. So much for drinking OJ with Ca and VitD in it every morning. So, went and picked up that Rx and got some stocking stuffers for kiddos.

Sunday, Dec 19, 2010

Woke up way too early.

Was going to work, but there was not any, so email and facebook catchup. I wonder how much free time I would have if I did not have a computer? What did I DO before that? Did I actually have a life?? :)

Made pancakes for Patrick and his friends. I forgot to mention, he had Michael and Preston spend the night...but they came over late last night. They told Eric they wanted to come because it was a "once in a lifetime opportunity". LOL!!

I guess it has been a long time since they have been over!

I went and did a little bit of shopping and got a hair cut. I don't care for it. I got a bunch of layers. I NEED a perm. I decided after the one I had a year ago fall that I would not get anymore because everyone says they are so 80s, but the truth is, I DON'T CARE. I NEED a perm. My hair is too straight and too thin and at this time of year, too full of static to not have a perm. I will probably wait and let these layers grow back out again...and then get one. if I had the time, I would get one tomorrow. It''s probably going to look like crap on Christmas...but oh well.

anyway, came home and washed it out and went to Mom's for Patrick's 3rd and final birthday celebration. Another cookie cake! :) This time it was sugar. and a white cake...and ice cream. She made spaghetti (at his request) for lunch...it was good. Garlic bread...etc. Good food, good company (the whole family), and we all played chickenfoot. Ty won.

Saturday, Dec 18, 2010

Got up to work...only 1 job.

read email, caught up on blog...

Decorated the tree.

Did some laundry and dishes.

Lina's for dinner. They have moved...right next door. Nicer now... and bigger.

Friday, 12/17/10

Kids to school. Mom came to get Addison after 11. Patrick got out at 11. Travis got out at noon. I worked in between all the taking and picking up. Stopped at WABurger after getting Travis to get some lunch. They had free fries today on their 12 day giveaway.

Worked some more....until 6, then stopped to go do some Christmas shopping before Addie got home. As soon as I left, Mom called to say she was bringing her home. I told her I was not there.

Ty called a little later...wanted to know when I would be home. I just can't get out by myself w/out someone calling telling me to come home. Drives me nuts, but I guess I should be glad they want me around! :)

Got a few little gifts, but did not make a dent in what I need to get.

Came home and Ty was on the cleaning war path, I guess, because he and Pat were cleaning up the game closet mess that Addie made this morning (I started the cleanup ,but did not finish - went back to work) and Travis was folding clothes. Shoot...I did not get a picture....crud! :)

so, finished folding clothes...washed the sheets, put the first set of flannel sheets on for the year...got Addie to bed, and finally got to watch my movie (Netflix - had it for 2 days). Actually, fell asleep during it....

Thursday, Dec 16, 2010

Work...school. Pat's class party was today. It is the last one for him. They don't officially do them in middle school.

Lots of good food. Kids seemed to enjoy it. I got lots of pictures.

Ty ordered pizza for dinner.

work, work, work....

Wednesday, Dec 15, 2010

Happy Birthday, Patrick!!

Work and school, then I had to go to the dr this morning. Nothing's wrong, just a check up. I did find out that I'm borderline osteoprotic and I have to start taking daily calcium. I told her I never drink milk, etc.. and she said "save your breath...it's mostly genetic." so...why do I have to take calcium if it's mostly genetic and not drinking milk has nothing to do with it? oh well, can't hurt.

came back home for a bit and worked, then ordered a pizza for Pat and went and had lunch with him at school. Got home adn went back to work.

Pat's gift came. They left it at the front door and when I saw it, I panicked...I was not going to be able to move it...it was big and heavy. I went to the shop and found ty's dolly and ended up loading it on there and moving it to the garage.

Picked kids up. Pat saw the box. I told him it was our new Christmas tree and he did not think twice about it.

Worked until 7, then went and met Ty at Abuelos

Had a good dinner, came home and gave him his present...

http://www.amazon.com/Razor-Ground-Force-Drifter-Kart/dp/B002S143RK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1292688277&sr=8-1

he was thrilled. but, it has to charge overnight so no riding it until tomorrow.

We did not do a cake or anything because he took his cookie cake to school today and had it with his class...and we still have some left over, and still have some of the one Patsy made....He was okay with that.

we did sing to him, and he got a dessert at Abuelo's.....flan. He did not care for it. I thought it was good. Not something I would order on my own, though.

Happy Birthday, 11 year old! Time sure does fly.

Tuesday, Dec 14, 2010

Last day for Patrick to be 10! He is really anxious to get some presents. I hope it gets here in time...ordered it from Amazon and its not here yet.

Work...school....typical day. WE have the tree up but not decorated....not much Christmas spirit in this house. it's kinda a bummer.

I stayed up late and made Patrick a cookie cake to take to school tomorrow to celebrate with his class.

Monday, Dec 13

Work...school....same ol' same ol....no work in the a.m.....worked all night. it's becoming the norm.

Sunday, Dec 12, 2010

Today I went out to get a Christmas present. I won't say on here where i went because I don't know how is reading this, but anyway, I ended up not being able to get it because I could not figure out where I needed to go to get it. Spent a lot of time driving around...oh well.

Anyway, went by container store too and found some neat stuff.

So, came home and everyone was getting ready to go to Patsy's for Patrick's birthday celebration, so we went there. On the way there, I was reading a map and figured out right where I needed to have gone to get that present. Guess I'll head back there next week.

Had a really nice family dinner at Patsy's (lasagne) and Patrick was happy with his gifts (Ipod from Nana). She made him a cookie "cake" since he does not like cake. It was good!

Back home and got the kiddos to bed and then me...work comes early!

Saturday, Dec 11, 2010

Got up this a.m. and got ready for a Christmas party. Addie and I picked up Carole and went to a party for the ladies I used to work with at Harris. This is the third year we have gone to this. I had it at our house the first year because Addie was so little and I was not working so I had time to get things ready. Anyway, it was good to see everyone. Carole got Addie a cute little chimp (stuffed) and dvd that tells about chimps. Very cute. She loves it! Lots of good food and good company.

Came home and napped with Addie for a bit, then she and I went out shopping for awhile. Came back home and the boys still were not home. Ty had taken them to some indoor race somewhere. They were gone when we got home from the party. Turns out, they did not get home until after midnight. Which was not good for me because Mom had planned a game night for them and they did not make it. I took Addie over there, even though she wanted to go to bed. She ended up falling asleep over there. Anyway, Mom and Dad and I ended up playing chickenfoot.

Came home and of course the guys were still not home. Put Addie to bed and did some stuff around the house until I went to bed...and they still were not home.

Friday, Dec 10, 2010

Patrick failed another test today. He told me last night they were not even having this test. Mrs. Luppy said he did talk to the counsellor this week...I did not hear from her. Not sure what was said. I think it is a cry for attention.

Out of work this a.m. Ty took the day off. He took Addie to his work to show her off, then over to his Mom's, then came home and put up the Chrstmas tree that he got last night. He took the boys and picked them up.

and there was no work.

Tonight Pat and I went to Oma's and Pat made ornaments while I worked on a project I have had in mind to do that needed to be done. More on that later.

came home, watched TV, made a snack for a Xmas party tomorrow, caught up on this blog, read email, and finally went to bed around 1 a.m.

Thursday, Dec 9, 2010

Another day, another dollar. Out of work again. Almost every morning this week. I don't know what is going on at this hospital, but they are sure slow this week. and next week I have dr. appt and Pat's Christmas party at school...so I will be missing time then. (and making up if the work is there).

I went back to bed...got up after 7. Which put me 3rd in line for the shower...which meant it was a 1.5 minute shower because there was no hot water. We are water hogs. We Bailey's like our showers. 10 minutes is a quick one. enough said!

Addie went to Oma's today...and yesterday. So glad she has the chance to go over there.

Apparently Santa left gifts on Oma's porch, but he just rang the bell and left before she could get there. :)

Wednesday, Dec 8, 2010

Same old same old...except Travis had drive time tonight for Dr. Ed. They did lane changes on Denton Hwy tonight. His instructor says he is going well. Last time I let him drive, he almost pulled out in front of a car when he was turning left. Truth be told, he would have hit them if I had not screamed. :) This is the first thing he has done that truly worried me because it was RIGHT IN FRONT OF US when he started to turn. He did not see it. it was not a small cat. it was a CAR....and he did not see it. scary. He looked both ways. I saw him. but he did not look again before he stepped on the gas. and I'm sure I have done it before when I was starting out. Probably, if we are honest, we all have at one time or another. but this is my son. and it was my car. And I don't want either to get hurt. It's really scary - I told him "all your mistakes from this point forward in your life will probably cost you $$. Some could cost you your life." Scares me. I don't know how my own parents survived all of us learning to drive. especially in D/FW. I know you have to give them wings...

and when I drive with him....I told him, "Your life has been in my hands for 17 years (in utero) and now I am supposed to sit back and my mine in yours." it's hard!

Tuesday, Dec 7, 2010

Just another typical day. pretty much like yesterday...including a lack of work to do.

Addie has days when she will go potty by herself and not even tell you, and then there are days when she won't go at all. She does not like to go #2 in potty either. Last year, that was all she would do, and then pee in her pants/diaper. Now she is going the other way. It's frustrating because she knows what to do and when to do it, she is just chosing not to. She is hanging on to being a "baby" as long as she can. But it's funny, too, because she will just announce out of the blue "I'm going to use the potty today" or "Im going to give up the binky today." or "I'm going to sleep in my bed today" like it's the most natural thing in the world...but then when the time comes..."uh...no...I don't think so. Maybe tomorrow I'll be big." I guess she just likes to be in control.

When you are ready, honey...I'm a patient woman. well, most of the time! Ok, I used to be a patient woman..a long long time ago.

Monday, Dec 6, 2010

Work. Well, out of work this a.m. Back to bed until 7ish. Just a typical day. Poor Addie is getting really bored at home while I work. NEed to look into a couple of days a week somewhere after the holidays and when she is potty trained. I don't think they will take a 3 year old if they have to change diapers.

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

Sunday, Dec 5, 2010

Lazy day. Cleaned the boys bathroom. Been telling them to for days and finally decided I needed to do it because it needed to be done right. Took me over an hour. Enough said.

Did some laundry and dishes. Did not even get out of PJs until dinner time. We went and ate at Abuelos.

I'm trying to remember what I did all day....(writing this on Wednesday)

Pat spent night (last night) at Michael and Prestons and spent pretty much the whole day over there.

Saturday, Dec 4, 2010

Got up and showered and gave Addie a bath and did her hair. We got her Santa outfit ready and went to Grapevine Mills Mall. I have not been there in YEARS. So, I went straight to the Santa area and there were only 2 people in front of me. COLOR ME HAPPY!!! We were done in about 15 minutes. I took a few pictures of her with my phone but none were very good....blurry. I did not get my Canon out to take pictures because they frown on that! :)

After we were done, we walked back down the mall to an area where there were no people around and there was a decent background and I took some pictures of her in her dress...

Here's the Santa pix I took with the phone.

The picture I paid for that they took...I think is the best Santa photo I have ever seen. :)

If you go to http://www.myalbumpics.com/ and enter photo code 338-041-g5zz5000, you can see the photo. It's really good. of course, I'm biased. :)

So, we shopped the entire mall...I got some outfits for her for Xmas from Gymboree, some from another store..got Pat some clothes and a T-shirt for Travis that says Rebel Race Team or something like that. His high school is the Richland Rebels, so I thought that was appropriate.

Anyway, I think we were at the mall for about 7-8 hours. Addie was good. She did sleep part of the time in the stroller. She told me when we left that I did not need to bring the stroller because she was a big girl, but I knew I would stay and shop and she would not walk all day, so I was glad I had it because she did take a nap in it.

So, we went home around dinner time...and I did not realize it until the next day, but I missed the Night of Holiday Magic that the city does every year. Which is not unusual. I don't think I have EVER made it to that. I really wanted to go this year too. I think Pat would have liked the snow hill. and they had a train ride that Addie would have loved.

Speaking of which, there is a train at the mall now...it was $3. to ride (not worth $3, in my opinion) and she rode it all by herself. (they were going to make me pay $3. too to ride with her). She told Ty when we got home that she rode all by herself and what a big girl she is. She really liked it.

anyway we had a good day.

Told Ty I wanted to go eat. We all wanted Abuelos but Pat was spending night at Michael's so we ended up at Spring Creek. We will do Abuelos tomorrow!

Friday Dec 3, 2010

Worked, took kiddos to school and back. Addie and I went to bed pretty early tonight...guess it was a long day.

Doug's funeral was today. I heard Colleen's eulogy was great, so I had her send me a copy.

I tried to copy and paste it here, but for some reason, it won't paste. Just take my word for it...it was good!

Goody bye, Doug...

Thursday, Dec 2, 2010

Patrick had his state project to present today and made a 95! Whew! Glad this is over with. Now to finish the Revolutionary War ABC book!

He has tests to study for, for tomorrow, but once again he did not bring home anything TO study. I'm going to wring that boys neck. I sure hope he likes Mrs. Luppy because he is going to be in her class again next year if he does not get it together. Guess i have to start going up there every afternoon to help him gather what he needs for home.

Good news: Addie took a long nap today and I actually finished work by the time I got Travis. Bad news: We are going backwards on the potty training. She went #2 in her pants 3x today. W/in about an hour. and only used the potty twice. Oh well, 2 steps forward, 1 step back, right? :)

Today was the wake for my Cousin, Doug, who passed away. He was my age. His funeral is tomorrow. He had been really depressed and was getting shock treatments all summer. He finished them and was doing better but got an infection that spread...guess he was in septic shock and got blood clots, which caused a stroke, and it was all downhill from there. It was all a matter of a couple of days and he was gone. Two cousins in 1 year. I'm still in shock. and I'm feeling extremely guilty for not being there. I just can't afford to go again, especially this time of year. I would have to take Addie, find the boys a way to and from school (Ty goes in before they are up and does not get home until 7 p.m.), etc. More time off work, $$ lost, and christmas time. The logical side of me can justify it. The emotional side says those are not good enough excuses...I should be there. No matter what. I'm the only one not here (from Tx). I just hope everyone will understand. I sure don't want them to think one cousin is more important than the other...

I'm so glad I got to see him back in August and got a hug and that my kids met him.

I need to look through and see if I have any pictures of him.

I remember the year that we went to St. Louis for Christmas. I bought Doug a gift. I guess we were in grade school. I bought him a big rubber black spider. I remember he opened it on Christmas eve and the second he saw it he yelled "ooh, a spider" and the threw it all the way across the room like it was a hot potato. He hated spiders. For some reason, I will never forget that. I remember playing in the snow with him. I remember one year they got a toy that used tootsie rolls, the fruit flavored ones, and you could make them into different shapes. I think you squeezed them in a mold...I remember eating a lot of cherry tootsie rolls that year. and I think of that whenever I have one now. I remember one year "Santa" brought me one of those personalized books, and the book had Doug's name in it...only I guess they could not read mom's handwriting because throughout the entire book it talked about my cousin, Dough.

Rest in Peace, Doug! We love you! Say hello to your Dad and Grandma and Grandpa for me!

Wednesday, Dec 1, 2010

Wow, December already. Worked all day...kids to school and home. The second Addie woke up, she took off her Pull-Up and put underwear on. She made it all day with just 1 accident (#2 again). I guess it just has to be her idea and she has to be ready. I don't even think it is an accident when she goes in her pants...think she knows and choses not to go on the potty for some reason.

Ty took Pat tonight to find some warm clothes that fit him. He went to school with shorts on this morning and it was 35 degree out. Not because he did not have any long pants...but because he chose not to wear them. I don't know why we have to go through this every year, but he likes to act like he is not cold. I don't get it, but I quit trying to fight it. He'll just have to be cold.

Tuesday, Nov 30, 2010

Well, Addie woke up this morning and decided it was time to be a big girl. she refused to wear pull-ups and went and got a pair of underwear. She threw a FIT at naptime when I told her to put a pull-up on (I won, because she sleeps in my bed at naptime). The second she woke up, she put the underwear back on.

She made it all day except for 1 time, and of course it was #2. ugh. Oh well, progress is being made! :)

She also said she was giving up binkies, but that did not happen. Another day. Pick your battles, mom!

Patrick spent all evening putting the finishing touches on his Colorado state projection due tomorrow, as well as other homework.

Doug's funeral is going to be Friday. Norma is not doing so well. Linda said when they took him off the respirator, he began to flat line immediately, but that his heart beat for about 10 minutes..and at the very end, a tear came out of his eye, and that was very difficult for them. I really feel like I should be at the funeral, but I just don't think I can make up back up there. I'll have to see what I can do...

Monday, November 29, 2010

Monday, Nov 29, 2010

Worked, kids to school, Addie home. No work early morning...Typical day. Baked chicken for dinner. Just a typical day!

Did hear from Mom that Doug has no brain activity and the docs are telling Norma she needs to think about discontinuing life support for him. I have no words.

Sunday, Nov 28, 2010

Lazy day. What a shock. Did manage to do some laundry and a little straigtening up in my office (can't tell, though). Worked a bit on project life. Im struggling with wether or not to continue this next year. I'm severely behind on this years...but have the ability to get it done...thought about doing it with a different approach for next year...rather than a picture a day, just use it more like a photo album with writing/journaling cards to tell the story. not worry about every day...but do get the whole year in there....

No change in Doug's status...

I got to sleep in this a.m. because Addie was not home...she spent night at Mom's. Thanks mom!!!

watched a movie this a.m., Folded some clothes. Did I mention how I hate laundry and folding clothes and how I am never caught up and there are always more clothes to wear? I don't know how that happens since we wear the same stuff over and over...but there is ALWAYS laundry now. ALWAYS.

anyway, only folded 1 basket...i think there are about 5 more waiting.

Addied came home. We read, we played outside.

Patrick worked on his school project. Did not do all of what he needed to so no games tomorrow until BOTH projects are completed.

Tonight we met Mom, Dad, and Grandpa Moody at Firehouse Subs for dinner and then went back to their house to play Chickenfoot.

(Aunt) Linda Newman called tonight. (cousin) Doug (my age) is in the hospital and it is critical...think he had a stroke/seizures, and has probable brain damage and it's not looking good...they don't know if he will make it.

Friday November 26, 2010

Overslept this morning...alarm went off at 5:30 and I hit the off rather than the snooze..woke up at 6, got on and started working at 6:30. Ran out of work around lunch, so took Addie and went to Mom's...ate lunch and left Addie there to play.

CVS called...Pat DOES have strep. Again. Around 7, went and got his antibiotic, then we all went back to Mom's. Addie was alseep, slept the whole time we were then, ended up leaving her there to spend the night. Woo hoo..a night off!! :))

Played games at Oma's, and ate leftovers....Played apples to apples...had a good time.

also stopped in at Hobby Lobby today and bought Cricut mats for the new Expression I got for Christmas.

TURKEY DAY, Thursday, Nov 25, 2010

Got up early this a.m. and started the chocolate pie, then made pancakes for all the kids (Jake spent night). Pep came and got Jake and then I made caramel corn, then finished the pie, then showered...We went to Mom's for T-giving. Grandpa Moody is here...he flew in yesterday. He fell and hit his elbow on their white brick wall. He did the same thing the last time he was here.

ok, so last week Dad drove up to Grandpa's. The plan was for him to drive up and bring him back here with him. He would have been here for Addie's party. However, Dad got there and Grandpa acted like he did not know that was the plan and got really mad at Dad and accused him of trying to control him, etc. anyway, he said he was not driving back with Dad and he would come on Wed. after his dr. appt (that he failed to mention to Dad) on Tuesday. So, Dad came back w/out him and he was not here for Addie's party. So, rather than drive here, he ended up flying in. But at least he is here.

anyway, we ate a great meal from Mom. Ty's mom was not feeling well this year so we did not go there.

Came back home and caught up on emails, blog, etc. Watched parts of some movies...

Back to work tomorrow.

Wednesday, 11/24/10

Worked this a.m. Patrick was up at 4:30 this morning throwing up (according to Ty, apparently I slept through it). I took him and Addie to the CVS Minute Clinic because the doctor's office said they were booked solid today, even though I called them 2 minutes after they opened.

Neither had Strep, but she is sending the culture off to be tested.

Worked today. Jake came over this afternoon so Pep could work. He is spending the night. HARD to work with him and Addie...they have shouting contests (so to speak). They are LOUD.

Travis did his first 1-hour drive time for Dr Ed tonight, and afterwards, we went to eat at Bosses Pizza right next door. Came home and worked some more, then watched a movie and went to bed. Not scheduled to work tomorrow, but I need to do a couple of hours to catch up. After I make a pie.

Grandpa in town. I'll say more on that later.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Oh, and it was 80 degrees out today. Does not seem like Thanksgiving.

Tuesday, 11/23/10

Work. School. Dare Graduation. This is the 5th grade drug and alcohol eduation program that Birdville does.

Tacos for dinner. Again. Did not finish work again tonight. It was either work or feed the kids.

Patrick played next door all afternoon but came home sick and went straight to bed...w/out dinner. He was asleep when I came to tell him it was time to eat.

Mon, 11/22/10

Worked. School. Went to pick up Patrick and went in to his class early to get his stuff to bring home, to make sure he had the correct stuff, because he is already failing math and science. Two weeks into the new grading period. I did not get all my work done because I had to sit down with him tonight and make sure he had all his work done, and done correctly. I think he is just not taking the time to do things correctly, so he has to either re-do them later (more time on his part) or take the bad grade, which he would rather do. Ty took video game stuff away. I don't think that is the problem, seeing as he he has not been playing them more or less all school year. I told Pat if we have to, we will sit down with him nightly while he does his homework. Ty told him that was a punishment for him (for Ty). wow...

So, I was going to see Santa TODAY, but...it did not happen again.

We went to Mom's for lunch for Addie's birthday. Mom let her pick the menu. We had hot dogs, chips, macaroni and cheese, etc. :) and of course cake/ice cream.

Forgot to mention, yesterday at the Bailey's, she got ZhuZhu pet and a "track" to go with it...and a Barbie and Barbie play set, some clothes, etc.

From Kathy she got some new Matilda Jane clothes...cute!

Today, Mom got her a pair of cowboy (girl) boots...brown suede with pink leather. Very cute! She got some clothes, a real cute dress from Donna, some books and movie from Sandra and Keith, and Mom made her a "Paper doll quilt"...it has a pouch sewn into the back that holds "paper" doll clothes for the dolls that are on the quilt. Very cute.

This is her matilda jane dress with her boots...

and playing paper dolls with Oma...

Had planned to see Santa today, but it just never happened. I'll probably regret that later.

Free HBO this weekend. I recorded a bunch of movies.

Went to Patsy's for dinner tonight for Addies birthday. Lasagne and cake...yum!!

Patsy gave Ty, at his request, some of his favorite foods typed up in a recipe book.

Worked on cleaning up my office. Got most of a desktop cleared off. That's a good start....Now Addie has a place to sit and "write" while I'm working.

Happy Birthday, Precious!!

Friday, Nov 19, 2010

Well, Pat's teacher emailed and he failed his spelling (60) and Vocab (45) tests. What a shock. I talked to my MIL about it...then to Ty about it... Ty did not have much to say.

I was going to take the boys to see Harry Potter...that did not happen. Pasty thinks I would make a bargain with him to take him to the movie if he signs a written contract that he will try his best next week in school...Ty suggested rewarding the good rather than ragging on the bad.

Addie has been working on her potty training. Did better today, but noticed if she has on pull ups, she does not try as hard. note to self: Buy more underwear.

Another day, another dollar. ho hum. yawn.

This is Travis' last day of Dr. Ed. classroom portion. Now the fun begins. He starts signing up for drive times with his instructor. and he informed me that he has to do TEN (10) hours of night driving and TEN hours of day driving with his parents, AS REQUIRED BY NEW STATE LAW, before he can get his license. GREAT. TEN hours in the car with a new driver? WHAT DID I PAY FOR DRIVER'S ED FOR?????? :) He said "hey Mom, we can just get on loop 820 and drive around the entire loop from Rufe Snow to Rufe Snow once a day for 10 days. ummm....NO. wow...that's going to add a few more grays to my hair. At least we have 6 months to do it in. He can't get his license until early May. Has to have the permit for 6 months before he can test for his license.

So, after Dr Ed I took all the kids to Rosa's for dinner. and found out that Patrick waited until now to do his homework. and he has tests to study for tomorrow and he did not bring home the papers to study. I just want to wring his neck.
what is going on with him????

On a "fun" note, Addied decided today is the day to start using the potty. I told her if she does, she could go to school. So she went. 2 drops. and then wanted to get dressed for school. I told her she has to go more than once...so 30 minutes later, she went again, a few drops, and THEN wanted to go to school. I told her she has to be TRAINED...to be going all day long every day...before they would let her in school. I told her they are not going to change a diaper at school for a 3 year old. She CRIED when she could not go to school, and these were not fake tears. She was devestated. She did have a couple of accidents. She wore pull-ups but then changed to underwear...accidents in both. But she is trying. :)

After school, Addied asked if Kayla could come over, and I let her call. When Kayla said she could, Addison just LIT UP and said "MOM, she CAN." She was soooo excited to have her come over!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LITTLE MISS ADDISON!!!

got up and worked, took kiddos to school. Addie and I stopped for some birthday doughnuts on the way home.

I should back up. The last few weeks I have been telling Addie that she is going to be 3 and she is getting to be a big girl. And big girls use the potty and don't use binky's. Well, she has been telling ME that she is NOT a big girl and she NEEDS a binky and she NEEDS diapers.

So all day yesterday, I kept telling her that it was her LAST day to be 2 forever and I think I was stressing her out a little bit...she kept telling me she was still a baby. (and we all KNOW babies wear diapers and use binky's).

So, I get her some donuts this a.m. and we come home and the first thing she does is says she needs her high chair. She has not sat in a high chair in MONTHS. So, I humor her. I know where she is going with this and I indulged her. Anyway, she climbs up in the chair and then she tells me she wants the chair to lay back.

I lay it back. Then she starts SUCKING HER THUMB. WHAT??? She is taking this baby thing to all new heights. I called her on that one..and she started laughing. She knew exactly what she was doing!! :)

so, later I tell her if she will use the potty, we will go meet Morgan and Lily at McDonald's play place for lunch. She marched right in there and went potty! Well, she sat there for a long time...and then wiped. I can't say for sure she went because she stuffed a LOT of toilet paper in there. At least she actually sat on it...which is a step in the right direction!

So, we went to McDonalds and met Morgan and Lily. And did I take a single picture? No...sadly! :(

Then back to work. Thought for sure she would take a nap, but no such luck.

Went and got Pat...then worked, then got Travis, then worked. She did sleep on the way to get Travis, but was awake when I got her out of the car.

So, made her some lasagne for dinner, took Travis to driver's ed, stopped and let her pick out a special cupcake for her birthday because I did not have time to make a cake...came home, cooked the dinner, and when Travis came home, we had a little party for her. Cake, presents, etc.

She got Matilda Jane clothes from Kathy. She brought them to me later and said she wanted to try them on and held them up and said "these are GORGEOUS!" She really loves them. She played with her toys and at 10:20, when I am writing this...is STILLLLLLL awake.

I heard this song recently. If you take out the lines about kissing her lips..stuff like that...it could have been written for Addison!! :)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjPcL_Icy3c

I tried to embed it in here so you could just click and listen, but it is not letting me do it for some reason. Sorry!

Tuesday, Nov 16, 2010

Well, this is the last day of my life that I will have a 2-year-old. It's with mixed emotions that I say that. Here she is on the last day that she will ever be 2!
so today....

Work, school, driver's ed.

Addie had a long bath this morning and when I fixed her hair and talked her into going out and taking "the last 2 year old pictures I will ever have" pictures. I think I got some good ones. She does not like the camera anymore...hates having her picture made. Always tells me no...but I'm too persistent!!

Mom came and got her this afternoon and she stayed until Ty picked her up. Apparently she went shopping. What a shock! Came home with a "Santa" dress. Now she has something to wear in her Santa Picture!

Cheeseburgers and Fries for dinner.

Tomorrow I will have a 3 year old again!!

Monday, 11/15/10

Work, School, dr. ed. Work some more. Made baked chicken for dinner, but forgot about it in the oven and it came out dry. It was in the clay cooker. I really think every home should have one of these. Just don't overcook! :)

Sunday, 11/14/10

Happy Birthday to my Husband! I worked early this a.m. Not much else today. Did some laundry and dishes. This afternoon when Addie was napping, I went to TRUs to look for a birthday present. I went with 1 thing in mind and then changed my mind when I got there and got other things...

I got her this... http://www.amazon.com/CLICKSTART-MY-FIRST-COMPUTER-PINK/dp/B002HEH7HQ/ref=sr_1_31?ie=UTF8&qid=1289872350&sr=8-31
(hers in the blue/green, not pink)

but debating on returning it for this..

http://www.amazon.com/LeapFrog-Leapster-Learning-Game-System/dp/B00134PM7I/ref=sr_1_25?ie=UTF8&qid=1289872426&sr=8-25

so she can take it with her...rather than being tied to TV.

then thought...she can't read...does not know letters/numbers...so she will have to have someone sit with her - which defeats the purpose of things she can do while I'm working...so I got her this

http://www.amazon.com/LeapFrog-19139-Scribble-and-Write/dp/B001W2WKS0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1289872563&sr=8-1

which I will give her for her birthday... and give her the other for Xmas. Not that she will know her letters by then, but it's a start.

anyway, hope she likes it...

We had spaghetti for dinner. Ty did not want to do anything, or make steaks, so I let Addie decide when we went to the store and she picked Spaghetti.

Saturday, 11/13/10

Worked this a.m., early, for a couple of hours. Nothing else much all day....

Friday, Nov 12, 2010

Work. School. No Dr. Ed today.

Nothing significant that I can remember.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Thursday, 11/11/10

Work...school...Addie to Mom's. Had conference with Pat's teacher today...more on that later, but it went well. Got home and worked a little bit more, then Mom called, she was at WalMart with Addie and had locked her keys in the car, so I had to drive out to her house and get the spare keys and take them to her...grabbed some lunch on the way home. Back to work, then to pick Pat up, back to work, then to pick up Trav and Addie, back to work, then to take Travis to dr. ed, then to McDonald's night for Pat's school with Preston and Michael...then back home and back to work, and now off to bed...

fun...

Wednesday, 11/10/10

Worked. Kids to school. Addison to Mom's. Got my work done. Leftovers for dinner.
Patrick broke lid for Gerbil cage. GREAT...

Tuesday, Nov 9, 2010

Worked, took kids to school, Addie did not let me get much done today, yet managed to get the count today. She took a nap watching the baby DVDs...Bach's Babies or something like that. She really seemed to like it!

Driver's ed. Ty got ChikFilA on way home. I just had a milkshake. great dinner, huh? :)

Monday, 11/08/10

No work this morning. Glad I worked yesterday.

got email from Mrs. Luppy saying to come in Thursday for a conference. Pat turned in those 6 papers so we will see what happens. When he got home, I found a website that has a state map and you are tested on the capital...he was having trouble so I found a map that makes you identify the state and just had him work on that. I think that is most of his problem...He knows the capital but not where it is on the map. so, we worked on that. I also made him do the first part of a project that is due next week. Feel like we are making some progress. Wish we had done this several weeks ago.

Made dinner, took Travis to Dr. Ed. , etc. The usual. Did not get my lines in, but technically with yesterday's lines, I did. I was hoping to be ahead, but now I'm just where I need to be.

Sunday 11/07/10

Got up and went to work. Travis went to Nascar race with Jared and his family. Sandra called and offered us 2 tickets to the race, so Ty took Patrick. I ended up meeting Margie at a craft fair with Addison and Morgan. Everyone thought they were sisters. Those 2 just seem to cause a buzz everywhere they go!

came home and made dinner and watched some TV and then went to get my pictures from Walgreens so I can work on catching up on P365.

Saturday, Nov 6, 2010

Worked this a.m. for a couple of hours. Guys went to Nascar race and took Addie so I worked in peace and quiet.

Stayed in PJs all day. Missed the fall festival for the first time this century. :)

Tonight we ate at Double Daves. Travis took a couple of friends.

Went and got some movies and came home and vegged.

Daylight savings time ends..get an extra hour tomorrow!

Friday Nov 5, 2010

well, I'm finally admitting that this project 365 I started in January is probably not going to be a finished book by January. but I have this blog, without which it would not even be possible to attempt to finish. so, last night I printed out a bunch of pictures and I'm going to pick them up and start "catching up" as best I can.

That being said...today was not such a good day. I checked Pat's grades and he has 2 Ds...only Birdville no longer recognizes Ds..so he has 2 Fs. Math and Social Studies. and he was so excited when he got in the car today because he says he passed his state test. We'll see...

anyway...I emailed Mrs. Luppy and asked her for a conference to talk about him and I'm supposed to go in Tuesday; however, in the meantime, I found out that the math grade is even lower and that he will probably be failing the course. She said he had 6 papers that he was able to correct for a higher grade and he did not do them. I went to the school and got them and brought them home and made him do them...and he has lost every privilege he has in his life. I did not tell Ty...I'll give him the rest of the grading period to try and bring it up...although it ends in a week, so good luck with that. He is not allowed to go to the Fall Festival now...it's his last one at North Ridge and it just kills me not to let him go...but that is part of the problem...his whole life I have given in and let him do things that I should not let him do when he is in trouble...and I have to stand firm now when he needs it the most. I have to start being a better parent. I've let him slide his whole life and I just can't anymore. That which does not kills us makes us stronger, right? I just don't know how to get through to him because he just DOES NOT CARE. I don't know how to make him care.

Anyway...Travis went to the Nascar race with Jared Hall and family tonight.

Sandra and Keith gave us 4 tickets to tomorrow's race...so Ty and his dad will take the boys. Pat does not want to go...he wants to stay home and go to the fall festival. that's not going to happen.

Anyway...what a day. I feel like I've failed him.

Thursday, November 4, 2010

Thursday, Oct 4, 2010

Work, school, driver's ed, work some more. Pat's not doing well in school...got grounded tonight and now can't go to his fall festival this weekend. It's killing me...it's has last one...and something that only happens once a year, and he has to miss it. WHY won't he try to do good in school?????? I don't know how to get through to him.

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Worked, school, drivers ed. Homemade pizza for dinner. Addison went to Mom's today, late morning. Went to grocery store on way home from driver's ed. Figured out today that all the times that Addison asked me to take her to the race car store, and I told her "that's Dad's dept, go ask him," she really meant Kroger's where they have "race car" carts. Takes me awhile, but I get it sooner or later! Poor child, probaby thinks her mother is an idiot!

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

Tuesday, Nov 2, 2010

Ty stayed home today...took boys to school but did not go to dr. I got my lines in, and then some, but not enough to make up for yesterday I could have, but stopped to take Travis TO GET HIS PERMIT! AND, HE ACTUALLY GOT IT TODAY!

When we walked in there was a girl and her mom standing there that he knew. I assumed it was someone from his dr. ed. class. But when they were leaving, he said bye to the girl and then said "Bye, Mrs. Huggins." and it dawned on me that was his homecoming date. HELLO??? You did not even INTRODUCE me. (he FORGOT that I did not ever meet her). (eyes rolling here). boys!!!

anyway, he got the permit, but then when I pulled into a parking lot to let him drive he wouldn't "because he would not learn anything in a parking lot." ????? guess he knows it all already. It rained all day...was still raining... I was not going to let him drive my car down rufe snow in the rain during rush hour. Call me a MOM!

anyway, took the night off...so to speak, caught up on blog, made dinner (chili), watched dancing with the stars (love that show).

oh, and I VOTED today. It's election day!

Monday, Nov 1, 2010

Wow, Already November...hard to believe. (sorry, could not resist)!

Rangers lost tonight...San Francisco won the World Series. But regardless, it was the first time in history that the RANGERS made it to the World Series and it was a good ride. Maybe we'll get it next time.

Drivers ed and work tonight. No work in a.m. so I was really behind all day. Did not get nearly enough lines. One of my worse days. Ty was not feeling good today either. He was going to leave early and go to dr, but said he could not get away from work.

Spaghetti for dinner...

Sunday Oct 31, 2010

Happy Halloween!!

I was going to take Addie to the pumpkin patch this morning/afternoon, but we never made it over there. I'll be kicing myself later when I don't have the pictures. It was a choice between Addie taking a nap and going...and naps ALWAYS win out in our house!

Addie could not wait to put her costume on. She wore it a good part of the day. After she woke up, it was time to get ready. I used eyeliner and colored around Patrick's eyes. I also sprayed his hair red and silver. He looked really cool and "ninja-ish"! :) He really liked it.

We went with Margie and kids to the church on Mid Cities for Trunk or Treat and when we got done there, went to Hometown area to trick or treat door to door. The kids had fun and got lots of treats!!! We left there and on the way home I stopped over in the neighborhood that the Baccus' live in and let the kids go to a few houses there, then we went home.

I washed Patrick's face real good and he showered and washed his hair about 3-4x to get the red out.

Wow, in all that has been going on, i forgot to mention that the RANGERS ARE IN THE WORLD SERIES. They are not doing so hot, though. The are down 3 games to 1, so tomorrow night it could all be over...

Saturday, Oct 30, 2010

So, go up this a.m. and went to Mom's with Addie and we made her tutu. It turned out soo cute. I left Mom's and went to WalMart to get stuff for Addie's costume and find one for Pat. Fortunately they had 3 to chose from. I took pix and tested them to him and he picked one and I got it. Thank goodness. and it was cheap!

Then I found dance stuff for Addie. Also got her some shoes. So, all set for halloween.

Came home and I tried all Addie's stuff on her while Pat tried his on. Addie went outside with her tutu one and she ran and danced around the yard for a good 20 minutes. She LOVES her tutu! It was so cute. I got lots of pictures and some video.

i want to add more photos here, but for some reason, when i click on the icon to load them, nothing happens. I'll try again later. I have some of her running around the yard, dancing, and some of her and Patrick at the carnival.

Came home and this evening we went to the city's Halloween celebration at Green Valley Park...Addie and Pat came and they both had a good time. I was so glad Pat ended up coming. He really likes his costume, too. He was not sure he wanted to go out this year. He is growing up faster than Travis did. I think Travis did stuff longer because he had younger siblings, and now Patrick is doing things less because Travis quit doing them. But, he went out tonight to the carnival with us and helped Addie with some games. We had a good time. Addie went in the bounce house and stayed in for a long time. Loved it.

Friday, Oct 29, 2010

Worked. picked up Travis. It goes w/out saying that I pick up Pat everyday too! :)

Anyway, went and got Travis and went straight to DPS for his permit. Waited in the line, was not too bad. Got up there...they told him to take the eye test. I told them he already did yesterday. They said it did not matter, that they had to do it there too. and did he bring his glasses? NOOOOOO. and he could not pass it w/out them. GREAT. AND, the school forgot to write his test scores on the form they gave us, so they wanted him to retake the road signs/rules test too. Well, since he did not have his glasses, I told them we would just come back next week. That way, Monday at Dr. Ed, they could put his scores on the form (so he won't have to retake the test) and then Tuesday we could come back to the DPS and get his permit. What a PAIN. So, basically, everything we did yesterday was a complete waste!

So, no permit.

Tonight was the Homecoming game. Cassandra texted Travis and asked if he would be terribly upset if we did not pick her up...if they met there..because she had to go early and sell stuff for Choir before the game. So, I just dropped him off. I made him promise to take some pictures of them (have someone take them) on his camera phone. I did not get any. I have not even met her. Anyway, then after the game he came walking in the house (I thought I was picking them up) and said Ryan brought him home. "what about cassandra?" "Oh, she left at halftime...she had to take someone home."

okayyyy....

Well, he did not seem at all upset so I just kept my mouth shut.

so much for a first date.

AND no permit....

I was going to go to Mom's tonight and make Addie's tutu, but Mom had her quilt group meeting tonight at her house so we stayed home. We'll go tomorrow.

Took Patrick to look for a costume and they were out of everything he liked and he did not get one. I have to stop waiting so late!!!!

Thursday, Oct 28, 2010

Work. Driver's ed. Need I say more? and I don't have Addie's costume or Pat's costume for the weekend...feeling the stress. Mom is going to help with Addies...I'm making her a "no-sew tutu" Hope she likes it!!

So, today I picked up Travis at 415, then went straight to his drivers ed so he could take the Permit test. They said to come early. So, he went in and Addie and I went to a resale shop next door to see if they had costumes. He came out about 20 minutes or so later and said he had to go home and get his glasses...he could not pass the eye exam. GREAT.

This happened in 8th grade and he had to go get glasses before they would let him in athletics. He has the same problem I had/have. He has perfect vision in 1 eye but not the other, so when they make him close an eye and read the eye chart, when he closes the good eye, he can't see with the bad. I have 20/20 in 1 eye and 20/?? in the other. I am nearsighted in 1 eye. At his age, I wasn't...I started to notice it in my 20s...did not become a problem as far as driving until 30s...when I got glasses that I only wear to drive. I was always able to pass my eye test, though, so I never had the restriction on wearing glasses. Anyway, after I had Addison, I ended up going from only wearing them at night when I drive to needing them in the daytime too, so I went and got rx sunglasses for day and use my glasses at night. So, this is what he is dealing with, but he could not pass the eye exam and we had to drive back home to get his glasses. What a pain. So, we went home and got them and then went back and he passed and got the form we need for him to go get his permit tomorrow. However, he will be required to wear glasses when driving. Did I mention this was all during rush hour down Denton Highway??? What a pain!!! But, tomorrow we get a permit!

So, after that, we went home and got the Mum and I put the "RR" on the flowers and then we took it over to his date, Cassandra. She does not live far. Anyway, we drove off after he gave it to her and he said "Mom, you did put the name stickers on it, didn't you?" CRUD...I FORGOT. He gave her the mum and I had forgotten to put their names on it. DUH!! I can't beLIEVE I did that. Well, I can...So, he called her and said he would bring the stickers to school tomorrow. But then I got to thinking about it and thought "she would have to go to school w/out the names on there...I should take them to her tonight. So, we went on to Mom's so I could get part of Addie's costume and then we ate at Rosa's on the way home, and then went home and got the stickers and then went back to her house to drop them off.

So, I was in the car from 415 until about 915 or 930...

Work. Driver's ed. That is my life right now.

Went to Dallas for some testing that I was very nervous about, but I got 97 and 99. More on that later!

Work. Driver's Ed. Dropped him off and came home and then Ty picked him up.

This is homecoming week, too, so things are really hectic for Trav since he has a date. :)

Yesterday was the homecoming parade but of course we did not go because of dr. ed. Last year Patrick and Addison and I "marched" in the parade with Patrick's school...and Travis ended up riding on the freshman football float because he was sitting on the float talking to friends when the parade started and they told him to just stay on! :)

Anyway, no parade this year. Driver's ed. Barely leaves time for his homework. It's only 3 weeks. I keep telling myself that! :)

Yesterday he had a chemistry project to finish for school and his dr. ed class had 84 road signs to memorize overnight for a test. I think he is feeling the stress already. I know I would be. But...he can do it! Tonight they gave him the road rules test stuff to study for a test tomorrow. All of this is so they can take the permit test on Thursday.

oh, and I have to go to Dallas tomorrow for some testing. More on that later.

Worked. No walking in a long time. I can just feel my veins clogging up! :)

This week starts a 3 week marathon of driver's ed for Travis. Tonight was the first night and they had a 2 hour parent meeting during the kid's class. It was rather informative. So, by this Friday, I will have another driver in the family (permit)! Kinda scary to think that in 1 week, he will be able to drive a car...on the road...with all the other idiot drivers that are out there. As a mother, it'S overwhelming to give them that much freedom and power. I remeber when I got my license...wow, the freedom that came with that! It's a whole new chapter in his life. His first big step away from us. It scares me to death. Not because I don't think he will do fine, but because of the other people on the road with him that will do something unexpected and test his abilities. I just pray he can react to anything that comes his way.

Anyway, so we had a parent meeting. He has to hold his permit for 6 months before he can get his license. Thursday afternoon he will take the permit test and then Friday we can go get the permit from the DPS. They have to have a picture permit now, not just a cardboard paper like we had when I got mine...so we have to actually go to the DPS and have his picture made. He has a good teacher. I like this school because the DPS requires you make a 70 on the signs test to get your permit, but the SCHOOL requires 100...because they don't want the person next to them on the road to only know 70% of the traffic signs. They have stricter requirements than the DPS. So, I feel comfortable with that.

Anyway, the school is Carroll Watkins Driving School in Keller on Main St. It's kinda a pain to drive out there, but it will only be for 3 weeks so I can live with that. Well, after 3 weeks, he will have to sign up for drive times, so it will be longer, but essentially 3 weeks of class. It's going to be a hectic 3 weeks!

October 24, 2010

Addison got up first this morning, but then came back in and asked for a bottle so I had to get up. :) Spent the day doing laundry, folding, Travis picked up the den for me...I cleaned up several messes that Addison had made (things I had just put up yesterday, so I was frustrated with her all afternoon). Then I saw her bedroom...oh my gosh....tornado struck it. Can't see the carpet. She got into 2 boxes of clothes of hers that she has outgrown and I had packed up and got every bit of it out, dumped out all her baskets...everything in her room was out on the floor. includings the parts of her bed that are not bolted down. Mommy was NOT happy.

Patrick and Ty got home around 6ish...Patrick apparently got sick this a.m. and threw up. Fun. He said camp was okay, but I think the getting sick ruined it for him.

I got up early this a.m. and made breakfast for Ty and Patrick before they left to go on their campout with Mrs. Luppy's class at Sid Richardson. After Addison woke up, she took a bath and got her hair fixed because we were going to go meet Mary and Marshall at the pumpkin patch; however, the weather took a turn for the worse and we ended up not going. Travis came home from Matt's to go w/ us, but then we did not go. It stormed really hard, tornado warning...several supposed sightings in the mid cities area.

Donna came over later and made the mum for Travis. I made Kathy's caramel corn recipe , kinda messed it up but it still tastes fine. I'll try again when this batch is gone! :) It's gooood!! I'M not real big on caramel corn, but this stuff is good. Sweet and salty.

After Donna finished I took her out to eat (Kincaid's) with Travis and Addison. Came home and got her to bed...and went to bed.

Wow...never thought I would ever be saying that! LOL WTG Rangers!!

Travis spent the night over at Matt's house tonight.

Donna and I went to get stuff for a mum for Travis' homecoming date.

Pat got a 96 on his bat project. Way to go, dude!!

Addie went to Oma's this afternoon.

Travis texted me from school and said he has a date to homecoming! Guess I'll be making a mum this weekend.

Took some great pix of addie....

Patrick stayed home again today, so I took him to the CVS Minute Clinic to make sure he does not have Strep and sure enough..he does. So, he is on an antibiotic now and can go back to school tomorrow. He has a project due tomorrow on the tube nosed bat too so worked on finishing that up, plus all his homework that was sent home while he was out. What an ordeal. We don't have the art gene in our family. Dad and Linda Beck got that gene and kept it to themselves, I guess...and Linda N has the photo art gene...but my poor kids did not get squat in that dept, so lots of tears where shed when trying to draw the bat!. I told him as long as he did the best job he could do, I did not care what the grade was on the drawing portion of the project. I feel for him. I HATED drawing projects!

While we were at Cozymel's Friday night for dinner, Pat left the Kindle there and we just figured that out today, so after I got Travis, we drove back out to Grapevine to get it.

I pretty much worked until bedtime...

Anyway, worked today...Pat home again today as I did not want him spreading germs. Slept off and on today again.

Travis stayed for open gym.

Worked some more.

Cici's (soccer fundraiser) for dinner.

Worked some more.

No work in the a.m. back to bed until I took Travis to school. Pat got up and started getting ready, but then felt sick and went back to bed. I did not know whether to believe him or not. He did not show any physical signs of being sick all day, until about 6 p.m. when he started running a really high fever. Went and got Tylenol and Motrin for him and put him back to bed.

Ty brought Tamales home from someone at work that makes/sells them, so that was dinner. I worked until I went to bed and still did not get my lines in.

Patrick missed his game against Michael's team last night...heard our team won.

TRAVIS SHAVED TODAY! First time. Definitely my photo of the day!! (I'm so far behind in this it's not even funny).

Saturday, Oct 16, 2010/Sunday Oct 17, 2010

Patrick skipped soccer this a.m. (and team pictures) to go with Travis and I (and Mom) to Kaleidoscope of homes. While we were there, Ty took Addie to have her picture made by the same photographer that did the boys when they were both 18 months.

So, K of Homes. all I can say is A MA ZINGGGGG!! 9000 sq foot home, 3 million dollars. The most impressive thing for me is the master bedroom closet...about 12 foot ceilings...shelves from top to bottom...and probably as big as my bedroom. And not just a big square room, but it was a like a maze...huge...and in the back was a closet w/in a closet...you open the door and there were cedar walls/shelves. There was a built in drop down ironing board. just amazing. The bathroom in the Master bedroom was gorgeous...looked like it was from a spa. I did not like the tub in that it was a...oh I think you call them claw foot tubs like in the olden days..and I prefer a REAL tub...the bigger the better. But it LOOKED gorgeous. I could go on and on but you'd just have to see them. I have lots of pictures...will load at a later time.

After we left here, we came home and packed an overnight bag and the kids and I went to Great Wolf Lodge. Pep got another 100 dollar room and we met her and Jake there for the night. We had a really good time. After everyone left, Ty came and got Addie and Pat and I stayed together and had a really good time. Its been a long time since he has had me to himself. He thanked me 20x on the way home. You could tell it meant a lot to him that I stayed. I was tired, but I was really glad we had that time. (this was on Sunday). We rode all the slides...and some were rather scary if I do say so myself! The big funnel especially, although not nearly as bad as last night in the pitch black darkness, backwards!

came home Sunday and got stuff ready for tomorrow. Ty had picked up some chicken, so we had that for dinner.
