October 24, 2010

Addison got up first this morning, but then came back in and asked for a bottle so I had to get up. :) Spent the day doing laundry, folding, Travis picked up the den for me...I cleaned up several messes that Addison had made (things I had just put up yesterday, so I was frustrated with her all afternoon). Then I saw her bedroom...oh my gosh....tornado struck it. Can't see the carpet. She got into 2 boxes of clothes of hers that she has outgrown and I had packed up and got every bit of it out, dumped out all her baskets...everything in her room was out on the floor. includings the parts of her bed that are not bolted down. Mommy was NOT happy.

Patrick and Ty got home around 6ish...Patrick apparently got sick this a.m. and threw up. Fun. He said camp was okay, but I think the getting sick ruined it for him.

Saturday, October 23, 2010

I got up early this a.m. and made breakfast for Ty and Patrick before they left to go on their campout with Mrs. Luppy's class at Sid Richardson. After Addison woke up, she took a bath and got her hair fixed because we were going to go meet Mary and Marshall at the pumpkin patch; however, the weather took a turn for the worse and we ended up not going. Travis came home from Matt's to go w/ us, but then we did not go. It stormed really hard, tornado warning...several supposed sightings in the mid cities area.

Donna came over later and made the mum for Travis. I made Kathy's caramel corn recipe , kinda messed it up but it still tastes fine. I'll try again when this batch is gone! :) It's gooood!! I'M not real big on caramel corn, but this stuff is good. Sweet and salty.

After Donna finished I took her out to eat (Kincaid's) with Travis and Addison. Came home and got her to bed...and went to bed.

Wow...never thought I would ever be saying that! LOL WTG Rangers!!

Travis spent the night over at Matt's house tonight.

Donna and I went to get stuff for a mum for Travis' homecoming date.

Happy birthday, Pep!

Worked today...actually finished at a decent time! yay!

Pat got a 96 on his bat project. Way to go, dude!!

Addie went to Oma's this afternoon.

Travis texted me from school and said he has a date to homecoming! Guess I'll be making a mum this weekend.

Took some great pix of addie....

Love the new camera!!

Patrick stayed home again today, so I took him to the CVS Minute Clinic to make sure he does not have Strep and sure enough..he does. So, he is on an antibiotic now and can go back to school tomorrow. He has a project due tomorrow on the tube nosed bat too so worked on finishing that up, plus all his homework that was sent home while he was out. What an ordeal. We don't have the art gene in our family. Dad and Linda Beck got that gene and kept it to themselves, I guess...and Linda N has the photo art gene...but my poor kids did not get squat in that dept, so lots of tears where shed when trying to draw the bat!. I told him as long as he did the best job he could do, I did not care what the grade was on the drawing portion of the project. I feel for him. I HATED drawing projects!

While we were at Cozymel's Friday night for dinner, Pat left the Kindle there and we just figured that out today, so after I got Travis, we drove back out to Grapevine to get it.

I pretty much worked until bedtime...

Tuesday, Oct 19, 2010

Anyway, worked today...Pat home again today as I did not want him spreading germs. Slept off and on today again.

Travis stayed for open gym.

Worked some more.

Cici's (soccer fundraiser) for dinner.

Worked some more.

No work in the a.m. back to bed until I took Travis to school. Pat got up and started getting ready, but then felt sick and went back to bed. I did not know whether to believe him or not. He did not show any physical signs of being sick all day, until about 6 p.m. when he started running a really high fever. Went and got Tylenol and Motrin for him and put him back to bed.

Ty brought Tamales home from someone at work that makes/sells them, so that was dinner. I worked until I went to bed and still did not get my lines in.

Patrick missed his game against Michael's team last night...heard our team won.

TRAVIS SHAVED TODAY! First time. Definitely my photo of the day!! (I'm so far behind in this it's not even funny).

Saturday, Oct 16, 2010/Sunday Oct 17, 2010

Patrick skipped soccer this a.m. (and team pictures) to go with Travis and I (and Mom) to Kaleidoscope of homes. While we were there, Ty took Addie to have her picture made by the same photographer that did the boys when they were both 18 months.

So, K of Homes. all I can say is A MA ZINGGGGG!! 9000 sq foot home, 3 million dollars. The most impressive thing for me is the master bedroom closet...about 12 foot ceilings...shelves from top to bottom...and probably as big as my bedroom. And not just a big square room, but it was a like a maze...huge...and in the back was a closet w/in a closet...you open the door and there were cedar walls/shelves. There was a built in drop down ironing board. just amazing. The bathroom in the Master bedroom was gorgeous...looked like it was from a spa. I did not like the tub in that it was a...oh I think you call them claw foot tubs like in the olden days..and I prefer a REAL tub...the bigger the better. But it LOOKED gorgeous. I could go on and on but you'd just have to see them. I have lots of pictures...will load at a later time.

After we left here, we came home and packed an overnight bag and the kids and I went to Great Wolf Lodge. Pep got another 100 dollar room and we met her and Jake there for the night. We had a really good time. After everyone left, Ty came and got Addie and Pat and I stayed together and had a really good time. Its been a long time since he has had me to himself. He thanked me 20x on the way home. You could tell it meant a lot to him that I stayed. I was tired, but I was really glad we had that time. (this was on Sunday). We rode all the slides...and some were rather scary if I do say so myself! The big funnel especially, although not nearly as bad as last night in the pitch black darkness, backwards!

came home Sunday and got stuff ready for tomorrow. Ty had picked up some chicken, so we had that for dinner.

Friday, Oct 15, 2010

Worked, took kids to school...Addie to mom's. Not much else today that i remember. Big full weekend coming.

Happy Birthday, Ronda!!

This morning we got up before the crack of dawn, got ready, and met up at Pat's school for the field trip with Mrs. Luppy's class to Fossil Rim. What a great day. The weather was perfect. Peppy and Jake came with us. We did the wildlife tour, ate a sack lunch, had Dairy Queen on the way back...and did I mention the weather was perfect? We fed giraffes, ostriches, same many types of deer and antelope...rhinos and cheetahs, and other animals I have never even heard of (well, I heard them last time we went, but had already forgotten them). got home before 4...played with Addison outside, Ty grabbed Burger Street for dinner. I went over to see Norma and Jan before they leave tomorrow, and to give her a pin I found of a Gold Rhino to give to Michael (O'Toole) because he just opened a store called The Gold Rhino. They had it at Fossil Rim.

Saturday 10/09/10 and Sunday, 10/10/2010

got up and worked for an hour until we ran out of work, cleaned our bathroom, let Addie "do my hair", did some laundry and dishes, and then went to Pat's soccer game at 1:30. They were tied 0-0 at half but it ended up 3-1 and they lost. Pat says it was 6-1, but I don't think so.

Last night I went to Kohl's and got Addie new clothes, and today I went to Margies and picked out a bunch of bows for her hair, got some to match everything she has! Fun!

This evening the kids and I went to Mom's for spaghetti dinner and to hang out with Norma and Jan again.

Joe T's tomorrow!

Sunday evening, Pep and I took Jake, Pat, and Addie to a "carnival" in Arlington tonight. The kids had a good time. We rode a hayride from parking lot to carnival area...there was a pirate on our hayride...a good one!

Lots of games and food and fun!

Friday, 10/08/10.

Not much work today. Mom, Norma, and Jan took Addie shopping this afternoon. Garage sales and a Christmas Warehouse. She got a couple of stuffed animals that she was proud of (cat in the hat and Sunshine Care Bear).

Went over to mom's this evening and sat around telling ghost stories with Norma and Jan. Nobody tells a story like Norma!! :)

I called Canon this afternoon. The refurbished cameras are not preowned and prebroken...they are basically overstock that has been sent back from a retailer that did not sell. So, I ordered the T1I. I'm SOOO excited and can't wait for it to get here (next week). It's more camera that I ever dreamed of. Now I HAVE to take the photography course I've been saying for years I would take. There is one at big picture classes (.com) that I am thinking about taking. This woman is an award wining scrapbooker who is an awesome photographer...heard great things about her class.

thinking about it...but will pay for the camera first...

Thursday 10/07/10

Kids last day of school this week. They are out tomorrow and Friday. Norma and Jan are in town, got in yesterday. I worked all day. Addie home with me. Work slow, but got my lines.

I got an email from Canon. It is going to be $210.00 to fix my camera - BUT - they are offering me a refurbished T1I camera that is 15.5 MP and has video and is high def, for $455.99. It is SOO tempting but I have to find out the "fine print" and make a decision. Talked to aunt Linda about it (the family's photography pro). She thinks $210 is too much to spend on a 6-year old camera. I agree. But I don't want a camera that someone else broke either. I'll call Canon tomorrow and find out the deal...

Wednesday, 10/06/10

Worked...did not walk...again. Addie home with me. This was Ms. Luppy's first full day back at school...so glad she is doing better and back now.

Sunday, 10/10/10

Went to Joe T's today with the whole family (minus Nathan and Aaron). Norma and her friend, Jan, are in town visiting so we had to go to Joe Ts for brunch. Great time, as always.

This is a photo Norma took of all us kids and our spouses (and Travis on the left).

Tuesday, Oct 5, 2010 AND Wed 10/6/10

Worked. Grocery shopped. Krista brought Pat home today...Travis stayed after and watched the Girls Volleyball game, then got a ride home with a friend. I picked up Pat from soccer practice (he rode there with Dawson) and then went and got groceries and then made a pot of chili for dinner. Addison called Kayla on the phone and talked to her for a LONG time.

Editing to add Wednesday. I somehow skipped it. And now I don't remember what I did! :) Other than work all day.

Monday, 10/04/10

Worked today. Addison home. After school, I took the kids to the BANDFEST at the FAAC. All 3 high school bands in the district came and performed their halftime marching routines and then all the feeder middle schools came to the field and performed a song with all high schools.

The 3 high schools have been chosen to march in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Ca this year...They are marching as one band (The All Birdville Band) in the parade. can't wait to see them on TV!!

We ate at Rosa's before the show.

Not much else all day....

Saturday, Oct 2, 2010

Made pancakes for kids...took Travis to Kohls for some new clothes. I came back to get Patrick and take him but then we ended up coming back for Travis and getting some lunch instead...then it was too late to take Patrick because he wanted to go watch Ty race. Donna and I took Addie to Kincaids once again.

Sandra called...she wants to give us tickets to tomorrow's Ranger game. Guess we are going to the ballgame.

Slept in.

Mom called and took the kids out for lunch for Trav's birthday.

This evening we went to Patsy's for Travis' birthday dinner. BBQ. I took his "mini" pie over for dessert (the pie I made had so much filling that I put some of it in a 2nd crust)

Saturday, Sept 25, 2010

Got up early for Pat's soccer pictures and game...but then found out that they were cancelled....ugghhhhh!!

Donna and Addie and I had our weekly girls night out...

HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY, TRAVIS!

I worked today. After school, Travis and Patrick and Ty and 3 of Travis' friends went to Speed Zone in Dallas for Travis' birthday. I got them $15 unlimited go-kart rides for the night and apparently it was a huge success. They were out past midnight and all said it was a great time.

While gone, I made Travis his traditional chocolate cake and chocolate pie. Made Margie a cake too. Unfortunately, the cakes turned out kinda dry...have to try again! Never had that happen before. embarrassing, since I gave Margie one.

When they got back from SpeedZone...I was already asleep, so no cake or pie tonight. Sorry, Trav!
