Today I went out to get a Christmas present. I won't say on here where i went because I don't know how is reading this, but anyway, I ended up not being able to get it because I could not figure out where I needed to go to get it. Spent a lot of time driving around...oh well.

Anyway, went by container store too and found some neat stuff.

So, came home and everyone was getting ready to go to Patsy's for Patrick's birthday celebration, so we went there. On the way there, I was reading a map and figured out right where I needed to have gone to get that present. Guess I'll head back there next week.

Had a really nice family dinner at Patsy's (lasagne) and Patrick was happy with his gifts (Ipod from Nana). She made him a cookie "cake" since he does not like cake. It was good!

Back home and got the kiddos to bed and then me...work comes early!

Got up this a.m. and got ready for a Christmas party. Addie and I picked up Carole and went to a party for the ladies I used to work with at Harris. This is the third year we have gone to this. I had it at our house the first year because Addie was so little and I was not working so I had time to get things ready. Anyway, it was good to see everyone. Carole got Addie a cute little chimp (stuffed) and dvd that tells about chimps. Very cute. She loves it! Lots of good food and good company.

Came home and napped with Addie for a bit, then she and I went out shopping for awhile. Came back home and the boys still were not home. Ty had taken them to some indoor race somewhere. They were gone when we got home from the party. Turns out, they did not get home until after midnight. Which was not good for me because Mom had planned a game night for them and they did not make it. I took Addie over there, even though she wanted to go to bed. She ended up falling asleep over there. Anyway, Mom and Dad and I ended up playing chickenfoot.

Came home and of course the guys were still not home. Put Addie to bed and did some stuff around the house until I went to bed...and they still were not home.

Patrick failed another test today. He told me last night they were not even having this test. Mrs. Luppy said he did talk to the counsellor this week...I did not hear from her. Not sure what was said. I think it is a cry for attention.

Out of work this a.m. Ty took the day off. He took Addie to his work to show her off, then over to his Mom's, then came home and put up the Chrstmas tree that he got last night. He took the boys and picked them up.

and there was no work.

Tonight Pat and I went to Oma's and Pat made ornaments while I worked on a project I have had in mind to do that needed to be done. More on that later.

came home, watched TV, made a snack for a Xmas party tomorrow, caught up on this blog, read email, and finally went to bed around 1 a.m.

Another day, another dollar. Out of work again. Almost every morning this week. I don't know what is going on at this hospital, but they are sure slow this week. and next week I have dr. appt and Pat's Christmas party at school...so I will be missing time then. (and making up if the work is there).

I went back to bed...got up after 7. Which put me 3rd in line for the shower...which meant it was a 1.5 minute shower because there was no hot water. We are water hogs. We Bailey's like our showers. 10 minutes is a quick one. enough said!

Addie went to Oma's today...and yesterday. So glad she has the chance to go over there.

Apparently Santa left gifts on Oma's porch, but he just rang the bell and left before she could get there. :)

Same old same old...except Travis had drive time tonight for Dr. Ed. They did lane changes on Denton Hwy tonight. His instructor says he is going well. Last time I let him drive, he almost pulled out in front of a car when he was turning left. Truth be told, he would have hit them if I had not screamed. :) This is the first thing he has done that truly worried me because it was RIGHT IN FRONT OF US when he started to turn. He did not see it. it was not a small cat. it was a CAR....and he did not see it. scary. He looked both ways. I saw him. but he did not look again before he stepped on the gas. and I'm sure I have done it before when I was starting out. Probably, if we are honest, we all have at one time or another. but this is my son. and it was my car. And I don't want either to get hurt. It's really scary - I told him "all your mistakes from this point forward in your life will probably cost you $$. Some could cost you your life." Scares me. I don't know how my own parents survived all of us learning to drive. especially in D/FW. I know you have to give them wings...

and when I drive with him....I told him, "Your life has been in my hands for 17 years (in utero) and now I am supposed to sit back and my mine in yours." it's hard!

Just another typical day. pretty much like yesterday...including a lack of work to do.

Addie has days when she will go potty by herself and not even tell you, and then there are days when she won't go at all. She does not like to go #2 in potty either. Last year, that was all she would do, and then pee in her pants/diaper. Now she is going the other way. It's frustrating because she knows what to do and when to do it, she is just chosing not to. She is hanging on to being a "baby" as long as she can. But it's funny, too, because she will just announce out of the blue "I'm going to use the potty today" or "Im going to give up the binky today." or "I'm going to sleep in my bed today" like it's the most natural thing in the world...but then when the time comes..."uh...no...I don't think so. Maybe tomorrow I'll be big." I guess she just likes to be in control.

When you are ready, honey...I'm a patient woman. well, most of the time! Ok, I used to be a patient woman..a long long time ago.
