Did some laundry and dishes. Did not even get out of PJs until dinner time. We went and ate at Abuelos.
I'm trying to remember what I did all day....(writing this on Wednesday)
Pat spent night (last night) at Michael and Prestons and spent pretty much the whole day over there.

After we were done, we walked back down the mall to an area where there were no people around and there was a decent background and I took some pictures of her in her dress...
The picture I paid for that they took...I think is the best Santa photo I have ever seen. :)
If you go to http://www.myalbumpics.com/ and enter photo code 338-041-g5zz5000, you can see the photo. It's really good. of course, I'm biased. :)
So, we shopped the entire mall...I got some outfits for her for Xmas from Gymboree, some from another store..got Pat some clothes and a T-shirt for Travis that says Rebel Race Team or something like that. His high school is the Richland Rebels, so I thought that was appropriate.
Anyway, I think we were at the mall for about 7-8 hours. Addie was good. She did sleep part of the time in the stroller. She told me when we left that I did not need to bring the stroller because she was a big girl, but I knew I would stay and shop and she would not walk all day, so I was glad I had it because she did take a nap in it.
So, we went home around dinner time...and I did not realize it until the next day, but I missed the Night of Holiday Magic that the city does every year. Which is not unusual. I don't think I have EVER made it to that. I really wanted to go this year too. I think Pat would have liked the snow hill. and they had a train ride that Addie would have loved.
Speaking of which, there is a train at the mall now...it was $3. to ride (not worth $3, in my opinion) and she rode it all by herself. (they were going to make me pay $3. too to ride with her). She told Ty when we got home that she rode all by herself and what a big girl she is. She really liked it.
anyway we had a good day.
Told Ty I wanted to go eat. We all wanted Abuelos but Pat was spending night at Michael's so we ended up at Spring Creek. We will do Abuelos tomorrow!

Doug's funeral was today. I heard Colleen's eulogy was great, so I had her send me a copy.
I tried to copy and paste it here, but for some reason, it won't paste. Just take my word for it...it was good!
Goody bye, Doug...

He has tests to study for, for tomorrow, but once again he did not bring home anything TO study. I'm going to wring that boys neck. I sure hope he likes Mrs. Luppy because he is going to be in her class again next year if he does not get it together. Guess i have to start going up there every afternoon to help him gather what he needs for home.
Good news: Addie took a long nap today and I actually finished work by the time I got Travis. Bad news: We are going backwards on the potty training. She went #2 in her pants 3x today. W/in about an hour. and only used the potty twice. Oh well, 2 steps forward, 1 step back, right? :)
Today was the wake for my Cousin, Doug, who passed away. He was my age. His funeral is tomorrow. He had been really depressed and was getting shock treatments all summer. He finished them and was doing better but got an infection that spread...guess he was in septic shock and got blood clots, which caused a stroke, and it was all downhill from there. It was all a matter of a couple of days and he was gone. Two cousins in 1 year. I'm still in shock. and I'm feeling extremely guilty for not being there. I just can't afford to go again, especially this time of year. I would have to take Addie, find the boys a way to and from school (Ty goes in before they are up and does not get home until 7 p.m.), etc. More time off work, $$ lost, and christmas time. The logical side of me can justify it. The emotional side says those are not good enough excuses...I should be there. No matter what. I'm the only one not here (from Tx). I just hope everyone will understand. I sure don't want them to think one cousin is more important than the other...
I'm so glad I got to see him back in August and got a hug and that my kids met him.
I need to look through and see if I have any pictures of him.
I remember the year that we went to St. Louis for Christmas. I bought Doug a gift. I guess we were in grade school. I bought him a big rubber black spider. I remember he opened it on Christmas eve and the second he saw it he yelled "ooh, a spider" and the threw it all the way across the room like it was a hot potato. He hated spiders. For some reason, I will never forget that. I remember playing in the snow with him. I remember one year they got a toy that used tootsie rolls, the fruit flavored ones, and you could make them into different shapes. I think you squeezed them in a mold...I remember eating a lot of cherry tootsie rolls that year. and I think of that whenever I have one now. I remember one year "Santa" brought me one of those personalized books, and the book had Doug's name in it...only I guess they could not read mom's handwriting because throughout the entire book it talked about my cousin, Dough.
Rest in Peace, Doug! We love you! Say hello to your Dad and Grandma and Grandpa for me!

Ty took Pat tonight to find some warm clothes that fit him. He went to school with shorts on this morning and it was 35 degree out. Not because he did not have any long pants...but because he chose not to wear them. I don't know why we have to go through this every year, but he likes to act like he is not cold. I don't get it, but I quit trying to fight it. He'll just have to be cold.

She made it all day except for 1 time, and of course it was #2. ugh. Oh well, progress is being made! :)
She also said she was giving up binkies, but that did not happen. Another day. Pick your battles, mom!
Patrick spent all evening putting the finishing touches on his Colorado state projection due tomorrow, as well as other homework.
Doug's funeral is going to be Friday. Norma is not doing so well. Linda said when they took him off the respirator, he began to flat line immediately, but that his heart beat for about 10 minutes..and at the very end, a tear came out of his eye, and that was very difficult for them. I really feel like I should be at the funeral, but I just don't think I can make up back up there. I'll have to see what I can do...
